HOME FOOTBALL 23 OCT CANCELLED- SUSPENSION OF MARCHING ACTIVITIES
Maroon Band Boosters, The home football game against Caldwell County for Friday, October 23 has been cancelled. The football team will now play Hopkinsville at Hopkinsville. Therefore, Senior Recognition will be postponed. I spoke with Brian Bivens, MNHHS Athletic Director, and the plan is to have Senior Recognition at an early home basketball game. Once we set the date I will share it with you. We definitely want to recognize our Senior Class at a public school event! Senior Parents, if you have not turned in your Senior Recognition form please do so. I will hold on to them until the event happens. Please remember that all parents of Senior Band Students are welcome to participate! Due to the fact that all remaining football games on the schedule are away games, we are suspending all marching band activities effective immediately. Both the Veterans Day Parade and Madisonville Christmas Parade will not take place in person. However, both organizations are looking at a virtual option. Once we receive information about the parades we will share it with you. The directors and staff would like to thank all of you for your cooperation and flexibility during the football season. Although it was not an idea marching band situation/season, we enjoyed seeing the kids and working with them! Winter Guard Update – Sarah Emerson, Laura Nordine, and the directors are in communication with both the school administration and the Tri State Marching Arts Circuit concerning the Winter Guard season. The Tri State Marching Arts Circuit has not set a definitive schedule as of yet. Again, once we receive any information concerning the circuit, we will share it with you. On behalf of the directors and staff, I would like to thank all of you again for your support of the band program, and especially, thank you for supporting the band students. We will continue to seek and find opportunities for the students to learn and perform. We will continue to adjust, adapt, stay positive, and persevere through this unprecedented time. If there is anything we can do to help you and your family, please let us know! Randy Adams Alan and Sarah Emerson Cory Mullins Laura Nordine
